Angiopoietin-like 7 (ANGPTL7) is a secreted glycoprotein that is structurally related to the angiopoietins. Members of this protein family contain an N-terminal coiled coil domain and a C-terminal fibrinogen-like domain. ANGPTL7 shares 89% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat ANGPTL7. It is secreted as a 45-50kDa monomer that forms disulfide-linked homotrimers and tetramers via the coiled coil domain. ANGPTL7 is expressed in the corneal stroma, trabecular meshwork, and sclera and is elevated in glaucoma aqueous humor. Its production is up-regulated in trabecular meshwork cells by glucocorticoids and TGF-β and in cartilage by TNF-α. Overexpression of ANGPTL7 in trabecular meshwork cells inhibits the production of collagen and proteoglycans. When overexpressed in tumor cells it promotes collagen and proteoglycan deposition but inhibits tumor xenograft progression and tumor angiogenesis.

It also belongs to Platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase IB beta gamma subunits subfamily. Cytosolic PAF-AH IB is formed of three subunits of 45 kDa (alpha), 30 kDa (beta) and 29 kDa (gamma), PAFAHB is a catalytic subunit. PAFAHB inactivates PAF by removing the acetyl group at the sn-2 position.

Par j 2 is one of the major allergens of the Parietaria judaica. Plant non-specific lipid-transfer proteins transfer phospholipids as well as galactolipids across membranes. May play a role in wax or cutin deposition in the cell walls of expanding epidermal cells and certain secretory tissues. The major allergens from P. judaica pollen, Par j 1 and Par j 2, have amino acid sequence identity of 45% and contain eight cysteine residues involved in disulphide bonds that compact the structure.

Tyrosine kinase with immunoglobulin-like and EGF-like domains 1 also known as Tie1 is an angiopoietin receptor and is an orphan receptor tyrosine kinase that is expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells and that is required for normal embryonic vascular development. The receptor tyrosine kinase Tie1 is expressed primarily in vascular endothelial cells. The receptor has also been detected in epithelial tumours in breast, thyroid and gastric cancers and in tumour cell lines where it appears as a 45 kDa truncated receptor fragment. Tie1 promotes endothelial cell survival, but other studies have suggested that the Tie1 kinase has little to no activity. Embryos deficient in Tie1 failed to establish structural integrity of vascular endothelial cells, resulting in oedema and subsequently localized haemorrhage. Tie1 is significantly higher in human aortic endothelial cells than in human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Additionally, attachment of cells of monocytic lineage to endothelial cells is also enhanced by Tie1 expression. Collectively Tie1 has a proinflammatory property and may play a role in endothelial inflammatory diseases such as atherosclerosis.

DNA Fragmentation Factor Subunit Alpha (DFFA). DFFA exists as a heterodimer (DFF) with DFFB. DFF is activated once DFFA is cleaved by Caspase-3. The cleaved fragments of DFFA detach from DFFB (the active component of DFF), which in turn triggers DNA fragmentation as well as chromatin condensation during apoptosis. A reduced level of DFFA detected in ovarian endometriosis may be a part of an apoptosis-resistant mechanism enhancing the disease progression.
