Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) is a widely used animal model for studying multiple sclerosis (MS). It is induced in mice or rats by immunization with myelin-associated antigens such as myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) or myelin basic protein (MBP), triggering immune-mediated inflammation in the central nervous system. The EAE model is valuable for investigating neuroimmune regulation, myelin repair, and anti-inflammatory immunotherapies.
