The paw edema model is a classic acute inflammation model commonly induced by carrageenan or formalin injection into the paw of mice or rats. It is widely used to evaluate the efficacy of anti-inflammatory agents. Due to its simplicity, high reproducibility, and sensitivity, this model is frequently employed in the pharmacological assessment of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and natural products.
