Chemerin receptor constitutes a class of G protein-coupled receptors, primarily comprising CMKLR1 (ChemR23) and GPR1. CMKLR1 is predominantly expressed in dendritic cells, macrophages, and adipocytes, participating in immune responses, cell migration, and energy metabolism regulation. Upon activation of CMKLR1 by chemerin, signalling pathways including G protein activation, β-arrestin recruitment, calcium ion mobilisation, Erk1/2 phosphorylation, and receptor internalisation are initiated, thereby promoting cell migration, gene expression alterations, and cytokine secretion. GPR1 primarily exerts its effects through β-arrestin-mediated signalling pathways, influencing adipocyte function and energy metabolism. Abnormal expression of chemerin receptors is closely associated with inflammation, metabolic disorders, and tumours, making them potential therapeutic targets for related diseases.
