Allergic Asthma Modeling

Allergic asthma is a chronic inflammatory airway disease triggered by hypersensitivity reactions. Typical models use antigens such as ovalbumin (OVA) or house dust mites to induce airway hyperresponsiveness, eosinophilic inflammation, and airway remodeling. These models are widely employed to evaluate the efficacy of anti-inflammatory drugs, antibody-based therapies, and immunomodulators.

Ovalbumins is a kind of protein extracted from egg white. Ovalbumins are abundant proteins synthesized in the fallopian tubes treated with estrogen or progesterone. Ovalbumins have antihypertensive, antibacterial, anti-cancer, antioxidant and immunomodulatory activities. Ovalbumins are usually used as markers for studying the control of gene expression in this tissue by hormones.
