Hamamelidaceae

The Chloranthaceae is a family of dicotyledonous plants. Plants in this family are primarily used for medicinal purposes. For example, the species Chloranthus chloranthus (genus Chloranthus) is used medicinally in its entirety to treat rheumatic pain and injuries from falls or blows; the rhizome, when crushed, can be used to treat sores. The species Herba-Coralis (genus Herba-Coralis) is used medicinally in its entirety and has the effects of clearing heat and detoxifying, dispelling wind and promoting blood circulation, reducing swelling and relieving pain, as well as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
