Lanoconazole is an antifungal imidazole drug used primarily for the treatment of fungal skin infections that is potent and orally available. (Z)-Lanoconazole is the Z configuration of Lanoconazole, used for investigating dermatophytosis and onychomycosis. It inhibits sterol 14-alpha demethylase, disrupting fungal membrane ergosterol biosynthesis. Lanoconazole is a potent, orally active imidazole antifungal agent with a broad spectrum of activity against fungi both in vitro and in vivo [1] [2].
