Balanophora

Sieboldin is a dihydrochalcone that inhibits the production of advanced glycation end products (AGE) produced by bovine serum albumin (BSA), exhibits free radical scavenging activity, and shows cytotoxicity in cancer cell lines, and is also used to capture methylglyoxal (MGO) from Malus baccata. Sieboldin is utilized in biochemical research focused on glycation chemistry, oxidative stress models, carbonyl stress regulation, and cellular damage-associated molecular mechanisms.
