BRK

BRK (Breast Tumor Kinase), also known as PTK6, is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that belongs to the Frk family of kinases. While structurally similar to Src family kinases, BRK is distinct and primarily expressed in epithelial tissues. It is upregulated in various cancers, including breast, colon, and prostate cancers, where it promotes cell proliferation, survival, and migration. BRK plays a significant role in cancer progression by activating signaling pathways such as PI3K/Akt and STAT3, making it a potential therapeutic target in oncology.
