(±)-Levomepromazine（(±)-Methotrimeprazine） is the racemate of Levomepromazine, an orally administered, low-potency phenothiazine antipsychotic that acts by blocking a variety of receptors, including adrenergic, dopamine, histamine, muscarinic acetylcholine and serotonin receptors.

Levomepromazine (Methotrimeprazine) is an orally active aliphatic phenothiazine antipsychotic compound and a Ca2+ release inducer, exhibiting antiviral, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, analgesic, and anti-nociceptive activities. Levomepromazine inhibits dopaminergic, cholinergic, serotoninergic, and histaminergic receptors, and is used for research in neurodegenerative diseases.

Levomepromazine HCl is a phenothiazine with pharmacological activity similar to that of both CHLORPROMAZINE and PROMETHAZINE. It has the histamine-antagonist properties of the antihistamines together with CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM effects resembling those of chlorpromazine.

Levomepromazine Maleate is a Tricyclic antidepressant (TCA), acting as a serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) and also having other activities including antihistamine, antiadrenergic, antiserotonergic, anticholinergic, and sodium channel-blocking effects.
