NMU2R

NMUR2 A gene on chromosome 5q33.1 that encodes a neuromedin U (NMU) receptor of the Gq/11-protein-coupled receptor family, which is expressed in the CNS—especially in the substantia nigra, medulla oblongata and pontine reticular formation. NMU receptors mediate various biological effects, including uterine contraction, vasoconstriction and activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, resulting in decreased food intake via the corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) system.
