Stemness kinase

Stemness kinase refers to cancer stemness-associated kinases, including multiple serine-threonine stemness kinases, such as Nanog. Cancer stemness, referring to the stem-cell-like phenotype of cancer cells. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are cells that, like normal stem cells, have the ability to self-renew by dividing as well as to give rise to all cell types within a tumor; consequently, they are also referred to as tumor-initiating cells (TICs). The strong emphasis on tumor initiation makes the in vivo tumorigenicity assay a gold standard for defining cancer stemness.
