Ieramilimab (LAG525) is a humanized antibody that targets LAG-3; it blocks the interaction between LAG-3 and MHC-II molecules by binding to LAG-3. By blocking the binding of LAG-3 to MHC-II, ieramilimab restores the immune function of T cells and NK cells, including reducing T cell exhaustion, enhancing cytokine production, and increasing cytotoxicity. Ieramilimab also increases the infiltration of cytotoxic T lymphocytes into tumor tissue, reduces the baseline density of regulatory T cells, and improves the tumor immune microenvironment. Ieramilimab is being studied for use in the treatment of various malignant tumors.
