Corypalmine is a kind of alkaloid from Coptis chinensis and purple chinensis, which has inhibitory effect on the germination of plant pathogenic spores and saprophytic fungi.

Corypalmine (IC50=128.0±10.5 uM) can inhibit prolyl oligopeptidase. (-)-Corypalmine shows inhibition activity against spore germination of some fungi.

1. (R)-(+)-Corypalmine ((+)-Corypalmine) shows strong papaverine-like activity.

(+)-Isocorypalmine is a natural product discovered in Corydalis ophiocarpa, capable of displacing SCH23390 at D1 receptors and spiperone at D2 receptors in HEK293 cells.

(-)-Isocorypalmine ((S)-Tetrahydrocolumbamine), a natural product isolated from Corydalis chaerophylla, has significant antifungal activity.

Columbamine chloride is an organic heterocyclic alkaloid and a metabolite of berberine which is widely found in Ranunculaceae plants such as Coptis and Phellodendron. Columbamine chloride induces apoptosis in cancer cells and exhibits anticancer activity. Columbamine chloride inhibits the cytochrome P450 (CYP) subtype CYP3A4 (IC50 = 30.6 µM). Columbamine chloride possesses various biological activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiprotozoal, hepatoprotective, neuroprotective, lipid-lowering, and hypoglycemic effects.
