Rhizophoraceae

The Rhizophoraceae is a family of tropical or subtropical flowering plants. It includes around 147 species distributed in 15 genera. Bruguiera gymnorrhiza (Rhizophoraceae) is a tall tree growing in wet areas of the coast. Its fruits are used to treat diarrhea and also to treat UC in folk medicine. B. gymnorrhiza fruit is rich in pinitol and thus has strong antioxidant activity.
