Description
Nortriptyline is an antidepressant compound that enhances corticosteroid sensitivity of blood T-cells in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and may be used for smoking cessation.
In vitro
In human TCCSUP and mouse MBT-2 bladder cancer cells, Nortriptyline (at concentrations of 6.25 μM, 12.5 μM, 25 μM, 50 μM, and 100 μM; treatment durations of 24, 48, or 72 hours) exhibited cytotoxic effects on both TCCSUP and MBT-2 cells[3].
In vivo
In adult male C3H/HeN mice (weighing 25-30 grams, aged 2-3 months) inoculated with MBT-2 cells, Nortriptyline (administered at doses of 10 or 20 mg/kg; via intraperitoneal injection; once daily; for three weeks) was able to suppress tumor growth in mice engrafted with MBT-2 cells[3].

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
