| Description | Fludrocortisone (Florinef) is a synthetic corticosteroid with moderate glucocorticoid potency and greater mineralocorticoid potency. Fludrocortisone is in research use for the treatment of hypotension.[3] |
| In vitro | METHODS: MIO-M1 cells were selected to study the anti-inflammatory effects of Fludrocortisone (Florinef) under IL-1β or TNF-α stimulation. Fludrocortisone was added to the culture medium at a concentration of 1 μg/μl, and 1 ng/μl of IL-1β or TNF-α was added at the same time. RESULTS Fludrocortisone reduced the expression of CCL2, IL-6, and IL-8 to baseline levels after TNF-α stimulation. [2] |
| In vivo | METHODS: Wistar rats were treated intravenously with Fludrocortisone (Florinef) (5 and 20 μg/kg). The effects of a single dose of fludrocortisone on systolic blood pressure in normal and endotoxemic rats were evaluated until 2 h after treatment injection and in vitro vasoconstriction to phenylephrine in mesenteric artery rings 3 h after treatment. RESULTS Fludrocortisone increased systolic blood pressure (P < 0.001), but more in endotoxemic than in normal animals. Fludrocortisone significantly improved the contractile response to phenylephrine (P = 0.039 and P = 0.007, respectively). [1] |

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 µL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
