Hydrolases commonly function as biochemical catalysts that use water to break a chemical bond,This typically results in dividing a larger molecule into smaller molecules.Some common examples of hydrolase enzymes are esterases including lipases, phosphatases, glycosidases, peptidases, and nucleosidases.
