Description | Phlorizin (Phloridzin) is a non-selective SGLT inhibitor found in apple, for hSGLT1( Ki=300 nM) and hSGLT2( Ki=39 nM) . |
Targets&IC50 | SGLT1 (human):300 nM(Ki), SGLT2 (human):39 nM(Ki) |
In vivo | In the treatment of diabetes, obesity, and stress-induced hyperglycemia, Phlorizin exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting the sodium-glucose cotransporters located in the proximal renal tubules and the intestinal mucosa. This inhibition results in renal glucosuria and impedes the absorption of glucose in the intestines. |
