In vitro
L-Palmitoylcarnitine chloride (1-20 μM) inhibits acetylcholine- and substance P-induced endothelium-dependent relaxation in a dose-dependent manner, while having no effect on resting tension and nitroglycerin-induced relaxation[1].
In vivo
In vivo, palmitoyl-L-carnitine increases intestinal absorption of the antibiotic cefoxitin in rat intestine.
