Description
Dirithromycin (LY237216) is a macrolide glycopeptide antibiotic. It is used to treat many different types of bacterial infections, such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, and even skin infections.
In vivo
At therapeutic concentrations, Dirithromycin enhances the production of IL1β in cells stimulated by lipopolysaccharides, with increases of +37% and +28% at 1 μg/mL. At supra-therapeutic concentrations, Dirithromycin inhibits IL1β through the inhibition of protein kinase C; the concentration of Dirithromycin when 50% inhibition is achieved is 378 mg/mL, while for Spiramycin it is 234 mg/mL.

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
