Description
Perlolyrine (Tribulusterine) is a naturally occurring alkaloid with molecular docking capacity (-5.73 to -6.59 kJ/mol) with MAPK1, MAPK14, and SRC, with potential anticancer and anti-inflammatory effects.
In vitro
Perlolyrine inhibits α-MSH-induced melanogenesis in B16F10 mouse melanoma cells in a dose-dependent manner (5-25 μM, 48 h). At 25 μM, Perlolyrine reduces melanin content by over 50% without affecting cell viability. Perlolyrine also suppresses the expression of melanogenesis-related genes such as MITF, tyrosinase, and TRP-1[1].
