| Description | Maltose (maltobiose) is a reducing sugar, a disaccharide formed by two glucose units linked via a (1-4) bond. It functions as a carbon source, regulates osmotic pressure, and provides antioxidant properties. Maltose serves as an efficient carbon source for yeast, bacteria, and fungi. |
| In vitro | Methods: Construct maltase-deficient strain (dMalX2) and Maltose transporter-deficient strain (dMalX1). Add Maltose (55 μM - 22 mM) and incubate for 0-72 hours. Monitor growth via OD600 and observe cell morphology under a microscope. Results: The inhibitory effect was dramatically enhanced in dMalX2 (Maltose-deficiency), with complete growth inhibition observed at 55 μM Maltose; dMalX1 (transport-deficiency) exhibited no Maltose-induced effects (tolerant up to 22 mM).[1] |

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 μL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
