Description
α-Hydroxyglutaric Acid Lithium, converted from glutamate in microorganisms and animals, is an inhibitor of α-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase and 5-methylcytosine hydroxylase, and has an inhibitory effect on ATP synthase and mTOR signaling.
In vitro
α-Hydroxyglutaric Acid Lithium inhibits the activity of multiple histone demethylases. In the active site of histone demethylases, α-Hydroxyglutaric Acid Lithium occupies the same space as α-KG, leading to inhibition of their activity. Additionally, α-Hydroxyglutaric Acid Lithium inhibits the activity of TET 5-methylcytosine hydroxylases[1].Treatment of U-87MG cells with α-Hydroxyglutaric Acid Lithium at concentrations ranging from 10 to 50 mM results in increased levels of HIF-1α and decreased levels of endostatin[1].

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
