| Description | Methoxyacetic acid is a metabolite of ethylene glycol monomethyl ether with HDAC inhibitory activity, inhibiting prostate cancer cell growth by inducing growth arrest and apoptosis. |
| In vivo | Methods: Male Fischer rats were treated with Methoxyacetic acid (30, 100, 300 mg/kg, gavage) for 5 consecutive days in the first week and then 3 times a day after a weekend break to study its effects on the rats. Results: Compared with the control group, Methoxyacetic acid administration led to a significant decrease in body weight in rats, severe degeneration of the testicular germinal epithelium, a significant decrease in thymus size, depletion of thymic cortical lymphoid components, and a decrease in bone marrow cellularity. At a dose of 300 mg/kg, it even led to a decrease in red blood cell count, hemoglobin concentration, packed cell volume, and white blood cell count. [1] |
