Description | delta-Valerobetaine is a precursor of trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO). |
In vitro | The level of delta-valine betaine in ruminants is much higher than that in non-ruminant meat, and in ruminants, the material content of cattle is higher than that of sheep and goats. The content of delta-pentylbetaine in the milk of ruminants is much lower than that in its meat. However, the delta-valerolactone betaine content in ruminant milk is significantly higher than that observed in non-ruminant milk. The results showed that incubation of rumen fluid with labeled Nε-trimethyllysine led to the rapid formation of labeled delta-valerobetaine. |
