Description
Cletoquine hydrochloride is a major active metabolite of Hydroxychloroquine. Cletoquine hydrochloride is a Chloroquine derivative and exhibits the ability to against the chikungunya virus (CHIKV). Cletoquine hydrochloride exhibits antimalarial effects.
In vivo
Hydroxychloroquine (5 mg/kg; intravenously) is administered to BALB/c mice for blood and tissue to determine the content of Cletoquine. The tissue to blood concentration ratio (Kp) is ≥1, indicating accumulation of Cletoquine in tissues. The Cletoquine Kp ratio for the various tissues are observed of liver (114.3)>kidney (24.4)>spleen (19.3)>lungs (16.5)>heart (5.5)[3].

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
