Bioactivity

Description	Azacyclonol (MER 17) is a drug used to diminish hallucinations in psychotic individuals.
In vitro	Azacyclonol exhibits an inhibitory effect on the activity of feline cervical sympathetic ganglia by 6.63%. Intravenous injection of Azacyclonol modifies the nictitating membrane's response to postganglionic and preganglionic stimulation.
In vivo	Azacyclonol affects human hepatic microsomes with apparent Km and Vmax values of 0.82 μM and 60 pmol/min/mg, respectively. In human intestinal microsomes, the formation of azacyclonol is time-dependent, demonstrating linearity up to 60 minutes. The rate of azacyclonol formation increases linearly with microsomal protein concentrations reaching 2 mg/mL.
