The second messenger D-inositol-inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (1,4,5-IP3) is used as an inositol phosphate derivative. The dissociation constant (KD) of Pr55Gag combined with D-inositol-inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (inositol having a divalent phosphate group and no lipid group) is 2170 μM. D-inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (KD = 568 μM) and 1,3,4,5-IP4 (KD = 526 μM) have almost the same binding affinity to the matrix (MA).
