Description
Golotimod TFA (SCV 07 TFA) is a dipeptide exhibiting immunomodulatory and antibacterial activity. It reduces recurrent lesions caused by HSV-2, alleviates radiation-induced oral mucositis, and inhibits the homodimerisation of STAT3 molecules in the cytoplasm.
In vitro
Mix 100 μg of Golotimod TFA with 5×10^4 PFU of HSV-2, incubate for 1 hour, and then inoculate onto Vero cells. The standard Utheisa kong plaque titration method was used to quantify infectious viral content. The Results showed that Golotimod TFA exhibited no direct antiviral activity when mixed, added simultaneously, or added 1 hour later, whereas the positive control acyclovir significantly reduced viral content. In vivo
Golotimod TFA (100 μg/kg, administered consecutively for 5 days) effectively alleviates experimental recurrent genital HSV-2 disease through oral administration. In experiments with female Hartley guinea pigs, oral administration of Golotimod TFA after fasting significantly reduced the incidence and severity of the disease compared to non-fasting conditions [1]. Golotimod TFA (subcutaneous injection, 100 μg/kg, once or twice daily for 20 consecutive days) reduces the severity and duration of acute and fractionated radiation-induced oral mucositis in male LVG golden Syrian hamsters, while also effectively shortening the course of ulcerative oral mucositis [3].
