Description | Neboglamine (CR-2249, XY-2401) hydrochloride is a positive modulator of NMDA receptor glycine site with orally active that can be used in the research of schizophrenia [1]. |
In vivo | Neboglamine hydrochloride, administered subcutaneously (s.c.) or orally (p.o.) at dosages ranging from 0.3 to 30 mg/kg, effectively modulates neuronal activity within various brain regions and attenuates phencyclidine (PCP)-induced hypermobility in male Wistar rats. At a specific dosage of 20 mg/kg delivered via subcutaneous injection, it significantly enhanced neuronal activity in the prefrontal cortex (PFCX), nucleus accumbens (NAc), and lateral septal nucleus (LSN), with no discernible impact on the dorsolateral striatum (DL-STR) when compared to a control group. Furthermore, oral administration of Neboglamine hydrochloride notably reduced the frequency of PCP-induced hypermobility and stereotyped behavior in a dose-dependent manner, demonstrating a lower threshold for affecting stereotyped behavior (0.3 mg/kg) than for influencing motor activity (3 mg/kg). |
