Description | α-Glucosidase-IN-20 (Compound 3B) is a highly effective and orally active inhibitor of α-glucosidase. It exhibits potent anti-diabetic properties, as evidenced by its IC50 value of 3.01 μM [1]. |
In vivo | α-Glucosidase-IN-20 (Compound 3B) at dosages of 10 and 20 mg/kg administered orally once daily for four weeks demonstrates antidiabetic activity in streptozotocin-induced diabetic male Wistar albino rats (170-200 g), effectively reducing blood glucose levels and counteracting streptozotocin-induced body weight loss. Additionally, this compound at the same dosages significantly lowers serum glucose levels in rats after oral glucose administration (3 g/kg), with no mortality observed in mice at a higher dosage of 2000 mg/kg administered daily for two weeks. Furthermore, α-Glucosidase-IN-20 exhibits antihyperlipidemic effects, markedly decreasing levels of serum biomarkers associated with streptozotocin-induced diabetes. |
