Description | α-Glucosidase-IN-15 (Compound 14B) exhibits potent inhibitory activity against α-glucosidase, with an IC50 value of 3.34 μM. It possesses antidiabetic properties [1]. |
In vivo | α-Glucosidase-IN-15 (Compound 14B), administered orally at doses of 10 and 20 mg/kg body weight for 4 weeks, exhibited anti-diabetic effects in Streptozotocin-induced diabetic male Wistar albino rats (170–200 g), notably reducing blood glucose levels and countering weight loss caused by Streptozotocin. Additionally, a single oral administration significantly reduced serum glucose levels post-glucose challenge (3 g/kg). No mortality was observed in mice at a dosage of 2000mg/kg over 2 weeks, suggesting a favorable safety profile. This compound also demonstrated antihyperlipidemic activity, significantly decreasing serum biomarkers associated with Streptozotocin-induced diabetes. |
