Description | Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is an enzyme, mainly involved in lipid metabolism, that hydrolyzes triglycerides in lipoproteins.LPL can be a target for obesity/diabetes-related cardiovascular diseases and has an important role in lowering triglyceride levels and improving cardiovascular. |
In vitro | Using mouse/human macrophage cell lines (e.g., RAW264.7, THP-1), lipoprotein lipase (Lipoprotein lipase) was added, and combined with flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and fluorescence-labeled lipid detection. The Results showed that lipoprotein lipase significantly induced macrophages to polarize towards the M2 phenotype (anti-inflammatory). M2 markers (such as CD206 and CD163) were highly expressed in lipoprotein lipase-treated macrophages, and these cells also demonstrated a significantly enhanced ability to uptake fluorescence-labeled lipids[1]. |
