Description
SQ-31765 is a blocker of benzazepine calcium channel.
In vivo
SQ-31765 (SQ 31,765) effectively mitigates ischemia severity independent of myocardial blood flow or hemodynamic changes. In a study, anesthetized dogs were administered saline (n=6), SQ-31765 (n=6; 0.2 mg/kg), or SQ 32,189 (n=6; 0.2 mg/kg) intravenously 10 minutes before inducing ischemia. The study examined the compound's impact on pacing-induced ST-segment elevation and myocardial blood flow during left anterior descending coronary artery stenosis. SQ-31765 significantly reduced ST-segment elevation (P<0.05) at 10, 40, and 70 minutes post-infusion, showing a notable reduction (5.9±1.4 mV at 70 minutes) compared to the saline group (12.0±1.4 mV at 70 minutes). All test groups exhibited decreased subendocardial flow due to left anterior descending coronary artery stenosis during atrial pacing before drug administration, highlighting SQ-31765's protective effects against pacing-induced myocardial injury.
