Description
Pongamol, an identified lead molecule from the fruits of Pongamia pinnata, on glucose uptake and GLUT4 translocation in skeletal muscle cells.
In vitro
Pongamol increased basal glucose uptake in L6-GLUT4myc myotubes to a significant level at a minimum concentration of 5 M (p < 0.05). Maximum stimulation was observed at 10 M (1.6-fold, p < 0.01)[1].
