Description | L-AP3 is a potent antagonist of metabotropic glutamate receptor (mGluR), demonstrating inhibitory effects on D-phosphoserine and L-phosphoserine with IC50 values of 368 μM and 2087 μM, respectively. |
In vitro | L-AP3 exhibits inhibitory effects on D-phosphoserine and L-phosphoserine, with inhibition constants (Kis) of 151 μM and 845 μM, respectively[1]. Furthermore, it demonstrates agonistic behavior by enhancing phospholipase D activity and reducing cAMP formation in the rat hippocampus[1]. Its selectivity for Group II subtypes is indicated by its inhibition of [3H]glutamate binding to mGlu3 receptors, with a Ki of 125 μM[1]. Additionally, L-AP3 effectively inhibits sodium-dependent L-[3H]glutamate uptake in both cerebellar and cortical synaptosomes, showing potencies of 39 μM and 110 μM, respectively[1]. |
In vivo | L-AP3 exhibits anticonvulsant properties, effectively inhibiting audiogenic seizures in DBA/2 mice[1]. |
