Glutathione ethyl ester is a cell-permeable, modified form of glutathione (GSH) that undergoes rapid hydrolysis by esterases in vivo to restore GSH levels. It inhibits progression in the early stages of diabetes-associated cataract formation and reduces reactive oxygen species (ROS) content, thereby protecting in vitro mature bovine oocytes from oxidative stress.

| Description | Glutathione ethyl ester is a cell-permeable, modified form of glutathione (GSH) that undergoes rapid hydrolysis by esterases in vivo to restore GSH levels. It inhibits progression in the early stages of diabetes-associated cataract formation and reduces reactive oxygen species (ROS) content, thereby protecting in vitro mature bovine oocytes from oxidative stress. |
| In vitro | Methods: Glutathione ethyl ester (5 mM) was used to treat bovine oocytes, and the morphology of spindles and chromosomes was observed through immunofluorescence staining. Results: Glutathione ethyl ester did not significantly improve the normal morphology of spindles, but it significantly reduced the proportion of oocytes with abnormal microtubule configurations after vitrification/warming. Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 μL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
