Description
Dodecane is a straight-chain alkane primarily used as a fuel, reference standard substance, and solvent, capable of upregulating TNF-α expression in rat skin irritation.
In vivo
Methods: Hairless rats (CD HrBi rats) were treated with dodecane (230 μL, topical, single dose, 1 hour) to investigate the effects of dodecane on skin irritation (erythema), transepidermal water loss (TEWL), and expression of interleukin-1α (IL-1α), tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) in the skin and blood. Results: Dodecane induced high transepidermal water loss and increased TNF-α expression in the CD HrBi rat model. [1]

Stock Solution Preparation:

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSOTargetMol | reagent to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
