Description
Zoxazolamine (NSC-24995) is a uricosuric and muscle relaxant. Zoxazolamine acts centrally as a muscle relaxant, but the mechanism of its action is not understood.
In vivo
Zoxazolamine, a biologically active 2-amino-2-oxazole compound, functions as a central muscle relaxant by diminishing the activity between central neurons. It is not an anxiolytic; instead, it reduces dopaminergic turnover and induces a pacemaker-like discharge pattern in dopaminergic neurons. Zoxazolamine is also utilized in assessing hepatic cytochrome P-450 activity.

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
