Description
Stigmasterol (Stigmasterin) is a phytosterol with major functions in the maintenance of cell membrane structure and physiology. Stigmasterol lowers cholesterol levels and has anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory effects.
In vitro
METHODS: CHET3 (10 uM) was used for in vitro electrophysiological experiments to investigate its effect on K+ channels.
RESULTS: CHET3 could activate the TASK-3 channel with minimal effects on other K2P channels and ion channels.[1]
In vivo
METHODS: To evaluate the analgesic effect, CHET3 (10 mg/kg) was intraperitoneally injected into mice and rats in the pain models of tail dip test, formal test, and paw pressure test.
RESULTS: CHET3 showed significant analgesic effects in vivo and was able to reduce different types of pain such as hot, cold and mechanical pain. [1]

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
