Description	Sanggenol L, a compound from the root bark of Morus alba, inhibits cell growth and promotes apoptotic cell death in melanoma skin cancer cells through activation of the cysteinyl asparaginase cascade and apoptosis-inducing factors. Sanggenol L has anticancer activity and antiproliferative effects and is used in the study of prostate cancer.
In vitro	Sanggenol L treatment significantly inhibits cell growth and colony formation in B16, SK-MEL-2, and SK-MEL-28 melanoma skin cancer cells, while HaCaT human keratinocytes are not affected by Sanggenol L treatment[1].
