Description
Parecoxib sodium is a prodrug of Valdecoxib and a selective, orally active COX-2 inhibitor that suppresses prostaglandin (PG) synthesis and alleviates pain and inflammation. Parecoxib sodium also acts as a cannabinoid 1 (CB1) receptor agonist (EC50=2.4 µM).

Parecoxib sodium (0-200 μM; 24-48 h) dose-dependently inhibited GBM cell proliferation in GBM cells [4].
Parecoxib sodium (200 μM; 24-48 h) suppressed the migration capacity of U343 cells [4].
In vivo
Parecoxib sodium (2.5/5.0/10 mg/kg; intraperitoneal injection; once daily; 21 days) exhibited anxiolytic effects in the upright maze test and enhanced memory performance in the novel object recognition and Y-maze tests [3].

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
