Description	Dropropizine (UCB-1967), a racemic non-opiate antitussive agent, is served as a cough suppressant.
In vitro	Dropropizine was not mutagenic or teratogenic in Chinese hamster V79 and human EUE cells, and lithium carbonate showed a weak and mazindol a moderate genotoxic response, which was reduced in both cases in the presence of microsomal fraction S9.
In vivo	Dropropizine was not mutagenic or teratogenic in Chinese hamster V79 and human EUE cells, and lithium carbonate showed a weak and mazindol a moderate genotoxic response, which was reduced in both cases in the presence of microsomal fraction S9.
