Description
Chromocarb (Chromone-2-carboxylic acid) is a vascular protective agent used to treat venous disorders and microvascular affections.
In vitro
Rats treated orally with Chromocarb exhibited a significant reduction in vascular wall degradation induced by intravenous collagenase. Chromocarb treatment led to a decreased increase in BBB (blood-brain barrier) permeability, accelerated recovery, lower hydroxyproline levels in cerebrospinal fluid, and a lesser decline in collagen content within the cerebral capillary basement membranes. Furthermore, at a dose of 50 mg/kg, Chromocarb was more effective than vitamin C at preventing the oxidation of reduced glutathione in the blood.

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
