Description (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-(3''-O-methyl) gallate ((-)-EGCG-3''-O-ME) is a natural product isolated from tea leaves with strong antioxidant, cytotoxic and antibacterial activity, which enhances the adhesive stability of etching rinsing adhesives to dentin.
Targets&IC50 COX-2:0.17±0.03μM
In vitro (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-(3''-O-methyl) gallate (3″Me-EGCG) (0–12.5 μM; 30 min; 37 °C) showed scavenging effects in HaCaT cell and cell-free systems.[2]
3″Me-EGCG (6.25、12.5 μM) recovered cell viability and increased the expression of heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1) under H2O2 exposure.[2]
3″Me-EGCG (6.25、12.5 μM) protected keratinocytes and regulated the survival protein AKT1 under ultraviolet B (UVB) and sodium nitroprusside (SNP) exposure.[2]
