Description
SMA-12b is an analog of the immunomodulatory parasite product ES-62 that has immunomodulatory activity, can modify the expression of many inflammatory response genes, increase the expression of many genes related to antioxidant responses, and can be used in the study of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and other autoimmune diseases.
In vivo
Collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) was induced in male DBA/1 mice (8–10 weeks old) by intradermal immunization with bovine type II collagen in complete Freund's adjuvant and mice were treated with purified endotoxin-free SMA-12b (1 μg/dose) or PBS subcutaneously on days −2, 0 and 21 and scored for development of arthritis as previously described. SMA-12b could also significantly reduce IL-12p40 secretion, it was not as effective with respect to IL-6. [1]

Stock Solution Preparation:

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSOTargetMol | reagent to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
