PD 90780 is a non-peptide antagonist of nerve growth factor (NGF) that interacts with NGF and prevents it from binding to p75NTR, inhibiting the NGF-p75NTR interaction with IC50s of 23.1 and 1.8 µM in PC12 cells and PC12nnr5 cells, respectively.

| In vitro | PD 90780 (0.1-100 μM; 2 h) impacts 125I-BDNF binding to truncated p75NTR, and at 100 μM, it inhibits 125I-NGF cross-linking to p75NTR. At concentrations of 0-300 μM, PD 90780 decreases TrkA phosphorylation resulting from NGF binding, with significant inhibition noted at 300 μM. Additionally, PD 90780 (0.1-100 μM; 2 h) inhibits the NGF-p75NTR interaction with IC50 values of 23.1 µM in PC12 cells and 1.8 µM in PC12nnr5 cells[1]. |
