| Description | L-Sepiapterin is an activator of phenylalanine hydroxylase and also a synthetic precursor of tetrahydrobiopterin, a cofactor of endothelial nitric oxide synthase. L-Sepiapterin can improve endothelial dysfunction in mesenteric arterioles of db/db mice and induce angiogenesis; meanwhile, L-Sepiapterin can also inhibit the proliferation and migration of ovarian cancer cells by downregulating p70S6K-dependent VEGFR-2 expression. Based on the above biological activities, L-Sepiapterin can be applied to mechanistic studies related to hyperphenylalaninemia. |
| In vitro | Methods: Cells were treated with L-Sepiapterin (0.1–10 μM) for 24 hours. Results: L-Sepiapterin induced cell proliferation in a dose‑dependent manner. Methods: Cells were first induced with VEGF‑A (50 ng/mL), then treated with L-Sepiapterin (1–50 μM) for 20 minutes. Results: L-Sepiapterin significantly inhibited VEGF‑A‑induced p70S6K phosphorylation. Methods: Relevant intervention experiments were performed using cell proliferation assays. Results: L-Sepiapterin inhibited VEGF‑A‑induced protein phosphorylation, cell proliferation and migration through an NO‑independent mechanism[1]. |

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 μL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
