Diquat-d12dibromide 1 is the deuterium-labeled form of Diquat dibromide, a broad-spectrum herbicide. Diquat dibromide induces reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and triggers mitochondrial autophagy. It generates superoxide anions and other radicals through redox cycling, causing oxidative stress. Diquat dibromide exhibits cytotoxic, reproductive, and neurotoxic properties and is used in the cultivation of cotton, soybeans, and other crops to control harmful weeds.
